Getting Started

Getting Started

Welcome to Los Santos Cops and Robbers. You've just spawned at Los Santos International with a bit of cash and no idea what to do. This page covers the one rule that gets new players banned fastest, and everything the server actually lets you do.

⚠️

Read this first: Server Rules. This page is a tour, not a rulebook. If the two ever disagree, the rules page wins.

This is not a deathmatch server

LSCnR is Cops and Robbers, not free-for-all PvP. You cannot walk up to a random player and shoot them because they were standing there.

Killing a player without a valid reason is RDM (random deathmatch), and it is punished — warnings, then bans, and repeat offenders lose their progress.

You need a reason to attack someone. The full list is in Rule 1, but the short version:

You can fight them whenExample
They started itThey shot at you, aimed at you, rammed you, or threatened you. See Initiation.
They did it to you alreadyThey killed, robbed, or arrested you and the revenge icon is showing. One kill back. See Revenge.
They're wanted at 5+ starsRed name, or the dark red Most Wanted. Kill on sight for everyone but EMS.
There's a hit on themThe hit amount shows behind their name.
You're both in a PvP zoneRedzones, active airdrops, and any robbery in progress.
You're wanted and a cop shows upSee Criminal Rules.
🚫

Not a reason to kill someone: they drove past you, they looked at you, they're being chased by police, or you just felt like it. That's RDM.

If someone kills you without a reason, don't retaliate outside the rules — clip it and open a ticket on Discord.

Your first 15 minutes

  1. Get some starting cash. Parking meters or a legal job will get you moving without needing a weapon.
  2. Grab a phone. Buy one at DigitalDen. It's your hub for quick jobs, hits, insurance, the stock market, and more.
  3. Buy gear. Most early activities need one specific item — see the table below.
  4. Pick a lane. Crime pays faster and gets you wanted. Legal work is slower and safe. You can do both.

Gear worth buying early

LockpicksHardware store, or the black market dealerParking meters

A weaponAmmu-NationStore, nightclub, and gun store robberies

Buy the gun before you plan the robbery. Store, nightclub, and gun store holdups all need a weapon in hand. Walking in empty-handed just wastes the trip.

Crime

Start small, work up. The bigger the score, the more cops and players it pulls.

On your own

JobWhat you need
Parking metersLockpicks
Vending machinesA crowbar from Ammu-Nation. It unlocks at a level, so this one waits a bit.
Convenience storesA weapon. Rob the register solo.
NightclubsA weapon
Gun storesA weapon
House robberiesGet in touch with The Boss to get started.

Better with a crew

JobWhat you need
Store safesThe safe in the back needs two people. Bigger payout than the register.
BanksBring a small crew. This is the big one.

Ongoing money

  • Drugs — grow your own or cook them, then find buyers and sell.
  • Car exports — steal and deliver cars for extra cash. (Boosting is coming soon.)

Legal work

No wanted level, no cops chasing you, steady pay.

Taco standSell tacos. You might get paid in something other than cash.

Police

It's Cops and Robbers — you can play the other side.

To join the force you need to be level 13 and pass the cop exam. Once you're on duty, the Police Rules apply to you, and your crew means nothing while you're wearing the badge.

Spending your money

Once you're earning, there's plenty to sink it into.

VehiclesBuy your own cars and helicopters
GaragesSomewhere to keep them
PropertiesYour own place
CrewsStart one or join one. Crews share initiation — see Rule 7.
InsuranceBuy it through the phone before you need it
StocksInvest through the phone. Markets move.
CasinoFor our degenerates.

Things to do with other players

  • Racing — set up and race against other players.
  • Hits — put a contract on a player through the phone. It needs a valid reason, like initiation or revenge. A hit placed without one counts as RDM, and that's on you, not the person who takes it.
  • Quick jobs — short jobs straight from your phone.
  • Airdrops — timed supply drops. PvP is on inside the zone while it's active.
